Woman Market Ready And Moving On

When we first decided to relocate and fulfill my lifelong dream of living by the shore, the new venture sounded so exciting & the planning was fantasy and pleasure times a thousand. We were giving ourselves a good year to find a location and home we could live in for at least the next 10 years or so. And then—fate stepped in and the year clocked down to 3 months. 3 months to say goodbye to my home of 27 years and my friends of 4+ decades. And…my babies. Moving on.

The consensus has been how could you move away from your kids? And as always people will have their opinions on your life, because ultimately they care. The kids they are referring to though are 24 and 22, respectively. By all accounts grown adults. My daughter hasn’t lived with me for a few years and my son just moved out today. As I heard him walk out of his childhood home for the last time as a resident, the tears started to pull until my eyes could no longer hold them. It was not an easy decision to move away from the first two loves of my life but we want our 10-year-old to experience a different lifestyle. Moving on.

My Babies

In my article Goodbyes-My Love Letter To You I wanted to let the aforementioned friends of 4+ decades know what each of them has meant to me in this lifetime. I am a firm believer that words should not be left unsaid  and that what you don’t say is sometimes more detrimental than what you do say. Just my 2 cents to anybody reading this, say it loud, say it clear. Moving on.

Woman Market Ready has always been about being “Market Ready” because “Life is the Market”. Be prepared for anything! Life turns on a dime! Sometimes you are forced to move on due to circumstances out of your control and you must be ready for it. But alas, I have always been so busy preparing; honing my transferable skills; staying healthy and in shape—Market Ready—that I might have missed what was right in front of me in the present. I have always moved on for the sake of someday, maybe having to move on. I can’t change my past mindset now or what it might have cost me, I can only move forward knowing what I know now. Life is a great mystery and a thrill ride with all its twists and turns. For this next chapter of my life, I am going to try to not be so Market Ready and enjoy the mystery laid out before me as the pages turn. So this is me moving on from a standard for myself that no longer serves me. From now on my fight will be to live in the present. And I smile as I think, what a glorious fight it shall be.

Moving on.
